Eric Shook is a Ph.D. student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the department of Geography. He is a member of the CyberInfrastructure and Geospatial Information (CIGI) Laboratory and is advised by Shaowen Wang. Eric's research focuses on the intersection of high-performance computing and geospatial problems and his research interests include computational geography and GIScience. He continues to contribute to a variety of research projects by combining his background in Computer Science and more recent experience in GIScience. His particular interest lies in developing geospatial algorithms and applications which solve computationally challenging problems that effectively leverage petascale supercomputers.
